NASCAR Cup Series Driver and Activist, Bubba Wallace will join Optimizely Chief Marketing Officer, Carl Tsukahara, for a fireside chat where they’ll be discussing getting it right: the science of race car driving and the drive for racial equality.
A graduate of NASCAR’s Drive for Diversity program, Darrell “Bubba” Wallace became the first African-American in 50 years to win in one of NASCAR’s top three national touring series.
Now firmly established as one of NASCAR’s top young drivers with six series wins, Bubba reached the top of the sport when he made the announcement that he’d be competing full time in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series in 2018, with Richard Petty Motorsports, being the first African-American to do so since 1971. Bubba once again raised the bar in 2018, when he became the highest finishing African-American driver at the world renowned Daytona 500, when he took the checkered flag in the 2nd position.
Carl Tsukahara is Chief Marketing Officer at Optimizely and is responsible for all global marketing strategy and execution. A 25+ year veteran of Silicon Valley, Carl Tsukahara was most recently Chief Marketing Officer for Birst, a category leader in delivering enterprise business analytics to major global corporations. Carl also has held operational roles in field sales, corporate strategy and software engineering. He holds a degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of California, Berkeley.
